The Reveal · A private session with Trish
You don't have to burn it down.
There's a version of staying that is its own kind of leaving.
One situation. Ninety minutes. Room to see what keeps it in place, and what could change.
I know that road
When is it my turn?
I know because I've been on that commute. The ninth trip of the week. Counting, because you only count when something has started to feel like evidence.
Somewhere between the school pickup and the merge onto the highway, I asked out loud, When do I get help? When is it my turn?
No one answered.
And I was beginning to understand that no one was coming to rearrange a life that appeared to be working perfectly well for everyone but me.
Your competence gets treated as consent.
The more capable you become, the more everyone assumes you can carry. Eventually, even you forget that being able to carry something doesn't mean it belongs to you.
I didn't necessarily need a new life. I needed to understand why I kept disappearing inside the one I'd built.
And why, despite everything I'd already tried, the same patterns kept finding their way back.
You are not the broken unit. The arrangement deserves a closer look.
A different level
You've done the work. Why does the pattern survive?
Parts of you shifted. But something familiar keeps happening.
Therapy. Retreats. Reading. Reflection. Learning to recognize your triggers, name your needs, establish boundaries.
Some of it helped. You understand yourself better than you used to.
Perhaps the problem was never entirely yours to solve.
We don't exist independently of the relationships, histories, expectations, and systems that shape us. We inherit agreements we never consciously made. We develop loyalties we may never recognize. We learn where we belong and what it costs to challenge that belonging.
Sometimes, what looks like an individual pattern is being maintained by an entire arrangement.
That gives us somewhere else to look.
What happens here
One session. Ninety minutes. One situation with room to see it.
The Reveal is a private session devoted to examining one situation in your life through a systemic lens.
We explore the relationships, expectations, loyalties, and assumptions surrounding it. What are you carrying? What feels impossible to question? What might changing your part in the arrangement ask of you?
Family histories and inherited ideas about duty, belonging, and love may be part of that picture. So may the very practical realities of money, work, and who depends on you.
This isn't therapy. It's space to see the situation in context, without making you the thing that needs fixing or deciding in advance that you have to leave.
Before: a short intake
Bring one situation you keep circling. The intake gives us a place to begin; you don't need to arrive with a polished explanation.
Together: 90 private minutes
We look at the arrangement around that situation, the agreements holding it in place, and the possibilities you may not have been able to see from inside it.
After: your Exit Map
A written reference to what surfaced, what you want to reconsider, and a next move grounded in your actual circumstances.
As it settles: a follow-up question
Room for a follow-up question as you sit with what emerged and consider what it means in your life.
You don't need the whole answer
A useful place to start.
You know something cannot keep going this way. You may not yet know what needs to change.
- You're the person everyone relies on, and the arrangement only works if you keep absorbing the cost.
- You've had the conversation, set the boundary, or made the plan. Somehow, you're back in the same position.
- You want to stay in the relationship, the work, or the life you've built. You need a different way to be in it.
- You're considering a change and want to understand what is keeping you there before choosing your next move.
Start with the situation that comes to mind when you say, not like this.
Leaving is not the only exit.
In the days that follow
Room for something to settle.
New understanding can keep unfolding after the conversation. In the shower. On the commute. In the moment you notice yourself about to say yes again.
You may question what surfaced, turn it around, check your own assumptions. There is room for that. You don't have to force a conclusion for the session to count.
The possibility is a little more room to choose. To feel more yourself inside your life. To change an agreement, ask something different, or stop carrying what was never yours alone.
What changes, and when, will be yours to discover.
